Growing up this was introduction to Anime, the fusion of Japanese animation and Indian history & legends was a something that we didn't expect but eventually it blew our mind. This will always remain close to me.

This movie is an absolute gem, from its beautiful soundtrack to its incredible animation and, of course, its unique story that grips the viewer from the very first second.

If you're a fan of The Matrix this is the movie you shouldn't skip as this built the stages for films like Matrix showcasing the future for humankind & what life actually means from a larger pov. This is still a benchmark for many films to come.

“Everyone gets over things in the end, you know.”
Not just your regular fantasy drama but a much layered portrayal. One of Hayao Miyazaki's best work if not the greatest.

My neighbour Totoro blends beautiful with both the worlds, the wacky imagination of a child & realistic grounded portrayal you seek in a film with unmatched arc making you feel the characters grow with your viewing journey.

One of the indisputable gold standards of Japanese animation is Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira. An all out mind-blowing
audiovisual masterpiece that will blow you away by keeping you hooked and glued to the screen.
Watch out for the opening motorbike chase.
#3 🎬 Perfect Blue (1997)
A psychologically disarranged horror show where reality and illusion are co-written and erased at the same time.
You don't have to be a Anime fan to marvel this incredible work.
Also, Darren Aronofsky filmography is heavily inspired by this gem.

The reason Grave of the Fireflies resonates simply because it's pure and realistic portrayal, teaching us to value life more than anything. Sounds cliche right? watch this and you will be haunted for the rest of your life.

If u're looking to introduce yourself to the Anime genre this is the work of magic that you shouldn’t miss. Once you watch it you're never the same. A masterpiece from Hayao Miyazaki & Studio Ghibli in every possible way.
