Is your Sunday setting you up for success?
Or setting you up for a week of stress?
Here are 5 things you can do every Sunday to optimize the week ahead:
1. Batch as much as you can
Things I batch on Sunday:
- cooking
- cleaning
- content creation
Having things ready to go has saved my ass more times than I can count.
Fill the reserves on Sunday so you're not scrambling during the week any more than you have to.
2. Look back
Reflect on the week you just had.
What worked?
What didn't?
Review your big picture goals and ask yourself if you're on track or not.
If you're struggling with this, simply take a piece of paper and start dumping any thoughts from the week onto the page.
3. Look ahead
Ok, we've reflected, now we're ready to gaze into the future.
- take a look at your weekly tasks
- add important events to your calendar
- take note of any due dates that are coming up
Set a solid foundation to maximize potential for next week.
4. Go to bed early
I know we don't want Monday to come.
I know it's tempting to stay up late.
But it's not worth it.
Lack of sleep is one of those things that compounds over the week.
Stay up late on Sunday, and you might zombify yourself for the entire week.
5. Decompress
Hell yes.
We've got everything set.
What now?
Exhale.
I love a good productive Sunday as much as anyone, but it's also important for us to recognize the value of rest.
Take time to chill.
Charge up your batteries.
Come into next week at 100%.
