For what it’s worth, I don’t think it’s theft from a legal sense. I don’t think this would hold up in court as violating artist copyright, as it’s all very transformative.
But I understand how artists feel violated by this. However the genie is way, way out of the bottle.

This industry wide existential crisis is coming for everything. AI and robotics are going to outpace everything humans are capable of doing.
