Devs start project. Realize they need help w/ the non-dev stuff. Hire BD, comms, & community ppl... who don't understand crypto 😬
Very common story. Ppl vastly underestimate how bad it hurts your project if the ppl who *interface w/ others* don't know what they're talking about
I've interacted with a very large number of people in a wide range of positions throughout the industry. I can't tell you how annoying it is to get funneled to some BD person who not only doesn't know crypto but doesn't even understand the project they're supposedly representing
"I'm not technical" isn't a good reason to not understand enough about the project you represent to talk intelligently about it with other people in detail. You should know more about it than just about anyone you interact with
I'm a big believer in, as much as possible, having the person who is doing the thing talk about it. Obviously not always possible. But the closest person to the topic who is available and competent should do the talking. Not a random "comms" person who doesn't have any idea
This is also how you get "generic corporate" community crap. We can all recognize it. Someone who doesn't know crypto, the community, culture, etc, runs a safe generic boring corporate "professional-looking" community plan. makes the project look incompetent and scammy
