"IVC" which so many Indians love to glorify was not discovered till early 1900s. It was unknown to Indians until the white man dug it up
Now "nationalists" want to ascribe all sorts of things to IVC including Vedic literature (despite flimsy evidence to back such an association)
We are told IVC is in the same geography as "Vedic" culture. Hence there must be some kind of congruence between the two
It's a bit like saying Etruscan Italy and Imperial Rome are one and the same, as both are "ancient" and both are set in same geography
Before IVC was discovered, educated Indians didn't have many issues with Indologist dating of Vedic period post 1500BCE
There were many opinions ofc, some preferring v v early dates. But it was heterogenous
Nobody associated 2500-1800BCE (IVC period) specifically with Vedic lit
Now that the ruins have been discovered, everyone is so very confident that IVC = Vedic
An assertion with no real basis
