how to take lecture notes and review in math that got me through all my classes with straight As
- from someone who never learned how to love the subject
[ Β :ο½₯οΎŸβ˜†βœ§ a #studytwt 🧡 thread ]
i used to never review before math exams kasi i would always say "pano ko rereview-hin yan" all the time. until i created this system that worked so well for me and it stuck on me since then
β€” if u can, try your best to record all your classes so u can go back and revisit any point of the discussion anytime. if ure still taking online classes, u can use OBS for screen recording on laptop or pc. if u're already in f2f, u can use ur phone's voice recorder
just make sure that u keep the recording personal and exclusively for studying purposes para iwas issue ;;
β€” along with the discussion, write a step-by-step DETAILED process on how to do the calculations following the given formulas. use sentences in describing each step and use words that YOU understand
here's how i did mine during active note-taking in my shs calc classes (!messy)
β€” optional, but if u want u can have a separate notebook for active note-taking during discussions, and another one for when you re-write and review
this way, the pressure to keep ur notes tidy during class is off and u'll be able to re-arrange ure notes better after class.
... recycled kraft paper notebooks from papemelroti are great active note-taking nbs as they dont look crisp clean and perfect, making messy note taking a guilt-free activity + they're an ecofriendly, local ph stationery brand (they're in shopee and lazada too!)
β€” use index cards or baby notebooks to compile and/or memorize your formulas. keep the text info limited as well. as much as possible formula name and the actual formula lang. and treat it as your "during-exam-formula-card" when you're reviewing.
β€” compile all of the examples given by your instructors during class, or those available in ur learning materials (textbook, module, ppt, etc.) and use them as exercise questions for ur review
u can answer the same qs w/o looking at the example and compare ur answers w/ it after
β€” u can also use questions from previous quizes, hw, & acts as exercise materials as long as the items have already been checked and graded. make sure to ask for the right answer in qs u got wrong so u can try to solve them again, this time with the right answer as ur guide
β€” also try to do ur math exercise reviews with a studdy buddy! so u can compare ure computations and discuss points u find difficult with them. not everyone follows the same standardized process in solving formulas so it's also helpful as they might have an easier/faster way of s
... not everyone follows the same standardized process in solving formulated equations, so it's also helpful kasi ur study buddy might have an easier/faster way of solving that u too can use!
β€” if ure still having a hard time studying the subject, try to approach ur tchr during their consultation hours. dont be shy! consult hours are made specifically for this reason! if ur school doesnt have an allocated consult hours, try to ask them for a schedule to meet with u!
hope this helps those who were like me rin na hindi alam kung pano mag review in math hehe. good luck & padayon! β™‘ γƒΎ(〃ω〃ヾ))
ella's notes are better examples on how to do the note-taking system i reccomended !! make use of words that you personally use and understand well, and write as many and as detailed explanations as u can!
also if u have any other qs u guys can drop by and say hi!
