Everything else is still up. If you look globally at how much gas is, itβs still high. Plus national oil reserves are at an all time low. The only reason cpi is down is because they've tortured the data. That way they can claim their attempt to reel in inflation is "working"
It's not really down when it's 8.5 over 5.3 YoY. It just isn't accelerating at the moment.
If anyone tries to spin this as a positive, they're full of shit. It's not a victory to say you've taken your foot off the gas pedal when the problem is that the brakes are out.
