Born in France to English-Greek parents in 1905, Maximiani Julia Portas was a hybridised Nazi, occultists and ‘New Age Hindu Philosophy’. She travelled the British India in the 1930s to gather intelligence (on the Allied) on behalf of Nazis. (2/n)

She claimed that Christianity has corrupted the naturalism of Aryan Civilisation, and the new politics of Nazism and Hindu Nationalism alone could revive the ‘old Aryan tradition’. She also argued that Hindus were the true heirs of Aryans. (10/n)

She was arrested by the British occupying Germany (which she claimed she was happy to as it brought her closer to her jailed Nazi ‘comrades’). But thanks to her husband Mr. Mukherji’s intervention she was granted an early release. (13/n)
Portas’s sexuality was always a a speculation. After the British captured her post-war she fell for a ‘war criminal’ whom she described as “A BEAUTIFUL LOOKING WOMAN, A BLONDE OF ABOUT MY AGE”. (14/n)
She was the leading figure of the movement of ‘Neo-Nazi Underground’ in the 1960s. Again, she was in a relationship with Francois Dior (post-war underground Nazi Financier and niece of fashion designer Christian Dior), as claimed by Francois herself. (15/n)
