Success is a byproduct of self-discipline.
Here's how to get better at it:
Society defines discipline as obeying someone else's rules.
I define it as acting in alignment with my values.
For me, that means I often endure short-term discomfort.
Most fail by trying to fit into other people's values/standards.
The thing is...
If you're doing what other people tell you to do
You're going to want to rebel.
Which will make you seem "undisciplined."
But it's just a part of human nature.
We crave autonomy.
So if we set our own standards/goalsβ€”
It becomes WAY easier to "discipline" ourselves.
One last thought:
It's easy to beat yourself up when you mess up.
That takes energy away from getting better.
Discipline is about consistently getting better.
NOT getting perfect.
So the next time you mess up, be kind to yourself.
