My small business does 7-figures a year from partnerships.
Here's my playbook:
My business sells software to gym owners.
We grew from $0 -> $3M in revenue in less than 3 years.
The majority of our leads come from partnerships.
Here's what we do, as well as examples from other industries:
Product Placement
I look for business coaches that serve our audience.
I ask them to talk about our software in their curriculum & offer them a % of recurring rev from every client they send us.
This is our largest source of inbound leads.
Outside Example:
I bought Justin Welsh's Content OS.
In that course, he has affiliate links for the tools he uses.
If I owned a competing software co, I'd offer Justin:
1. Money to use my product
2. A better affiliate deal to recommend it to his audience.
Special Features
We partnered with a supplement provider & made it easier for gym owners to sell that company's supplements from our websites.
Now that supplement company recommends our product to their large client base.
Outside Example:
Ali Abdaal is an affiliate for Ghost.
He turned his website into a custom theme.
If you want to build a brand like his, this theme saves you time, which makes Ghost more compelling.
In a 2021 vid, Ali said he made $200k+ in affiliate income that yr.
Lead Swaps
We put out co-branded webinars & lead magnets with companies that serve the same audience as us.
Then we share the leads that come through the funnel.
We're careful to work with companies that have a good reputation because our brand gets associated with theirs.
Outside Example:
Marketing agency KlientBoost has co-branded lead magnets w/ some of the biggest marketing software companies.
This legitimizes their brand.
In a 2021 podcast, the founder said they were doing $20M in annual revenue.
Bartering With Influencers
We barter services with influencers in our niche.
They shout us out in their content & we help them build their audience.
It's a cost-effective way to grow for both parties.
Outside Example:
Lithium Cycles sent Youtuber Casey Neistat a free Super73 bike.
He made a video reviewing the bike, and it got 4.6M views.
I bet it sold a lot of Super73 bikes.
The 7-figure partnership playbook:
1. Product placement
2. Special features
3. Lead swaps
4. Bartering with influencers
