finally watched thor: love and thunder
people said it would be (even) worse than the new dr strange one, but honestly I liked thor better?
both have pretty severe problems with tone and writing, but at least thor is more designed to be a pretty absurd movie unlike dr strange

I kinda wish the movie would lean a little less into the "trying to find my new self" arc, it felt pretty forced and unnatural for thor as a character in that moment, and it never really felt, earned?

the themes get pretty muddied, like, I think focusing on the "are gods really doing good?" arc a little more would be more interesting, instead of trying to make a personal journey in a movie, that isn't really about that

or, ditch the grand scale conflicts, and make it a personal journey instead
smaller scale, less grand battles with gods, and center it on personal conflicts. I honestly think that would be a nice change of pace
wandavision pulled this off super well! (last two episodes aside)
