Want to have the perfect interview?
Start by asking this question:
Start by asking this question:
"What would have to happen for you to not take this job?"
OR, phrased differently...
"What would have to happen for you to quit this job once you were hired?"

This is why:
I like to know what their non-negotiables are.
I like to know what their non-negotiables are.
Most of the time if you ask somebody their non-negotiables...
They typically don't know.
But if you ask them what would have to happen for them to quitβ
They'll probably have an answer for you.

II like to preface any interview with that question.
Because if their non-negotiables don't align with mine...
Then we're probably not a good fit for each other.
Or if their non-negotiables do align with mine, it'll probably be a great fit.

That being said, this isn't a blanket question every interviewer should ask.
If you like it, test it out.
If you don't, you can always find something else that works for you.
