In the screenshot from Manusmṛti 2.31, it has been told what kind of names should the people of four varṇas get.
Note that the Śūdra is assigned 'jugupsita', for which Medhātithi gives examples like Kṛpaṇaka, Dīna and Śabaraka.
But did Śūdras always get such names? +
Hemādri in his Caturvargacintāmaṇi (Vratakhaṇḍa, chapter 7) cites Padmapurāṇa (Skandapurāṇa?) Nāgarakhaṇḍa, where a Śūdra named 'Vīrasena' is mentioned.
Padmapurāṇa mentions 'Vīravikrama' (Brahmakhaṇḍa, ch. 16), 'Nityodaya' (Kriyākhaṇḍa, ch. 23). +
Śyāmilaka in his 'Pādatāḍitaka' mentions a Śūdra named 'Viṣṇunāga'.
May be the rules regarding names were not really treated as rules per se.
Hence, Śūdra names like Vīrasena, Vīravikrama, Nityodaya & Viṣṇunāga (and many more) find mention in the old Sanskrit literature.
