THREAD ๐Ÿงต:
Back in January, Kazakhstan raised the price of gas, which led to peaceful protests in parts of the country.
Within a few days, police were beheaded by jihadists, government buildings were stormed in multiple cities, and the important city of Almaty was a warzone.
The most dramatic events took place at Almaty's international airport, which was seized by the "protestors", who were now armed with automatic weapons. Russia sent 3000 paratroopers to Kazakhstan the very next day, who played a key role in restoring order.
What started as a simple protest against gas prices turned into a potential civil war in less than a week. How does that happen organically? Why would people seeking lower gas prices immediately try to seize an international airport?
This is the color revolution playbook.
Some people portray color revolutions as entirely artificial events, where every single protestor in the streets is a paid foreign agent. This is not only wrong, but it also allows those responsible to dismiss these accusations as "conspiracy theories" that ignore real problems.
In reality, color revolutions are opportunistic, not artificial. They are planned far in advance by small but organized groups of foreign agents. These plans are designed to be triggered at a moment's notice, to take advantage of spontaneous and legitimate protests.
When the US wants to overthrow a government, it pours millions/billions of dollars into the country through NGOs. That primarily goes to two things:
1) Widespread propaganda and education for the general populace.
2) Training cadre to hijack and guide spontaneous uprisings.
This thread shows how the US instigated the 2019 riots in Hong Kong.
This playbook isn't unique to Hong Kong, though the ideologies and actors change depending on the target country. In Kazakhstan, the fifth column consisted of Jihadist militants...
...Pan-Turkic organizations, and pro-West oligarchs in the business/energy sectors and government. In other words, the playbook is always the same, but it has the flexibility to plug in different players when needed.
The involvement of Pan-Turkic groups points to another...
...aspect, which is the use of US vassals to achieve success. Turkey, the purveyor of Pan-Turkism, played a big role in Kazakhstan. In Hong Kong it's Britain, In Moldova it's Romania, in Iran it's Israel/Kurds, and so on.
America is the hegemon, but hegemony is decentralized.
When it comes to executing a color revolution, the key strategies are:
1) Seizure of government buildings and critical infrastructure to paralyze the state.
2) Violent provocations against protestors to encourage escalation.
3) Manipulative bot usage and media campaigns.
An example of the first point would be the seizure of the Almaty airport. For the second point, the infamous Banderite snipers in Maidan square. For the third point, well, just spend a few days on Twitter and witness the flood of fake news and overhyped events.
To sum it all up, color revolutions are fundamentally opportunistic. They are prepared sometimes years in advance to strike when the time is right. They are done quickly and violently, and they are supported by massive media PsyOps that play to your emotions and biases.
I hope this thread helps people better identify color revolutions, it's easy to get swept up in the hype and ignore the facts on the ground.
Stay vigilant and be aware of your biases, the imperialists have perfected the science of information warfare.
