2) We'll be looking into the next 6 metrics to make your analysis as comprehensive as possible without sacrificing quality.
• Idea
• Technology
• Team
• Key figures
• Marketing
• Community
Lets go into more detail.
3) IDEA
• Understand the basic concept behind the project.
You can't begin to value an asset if you don't even know what they are doing.
• Is it solving a problem?
Ask yourself if the world really needs this or if the masses can really use this.
4) TECHNOLOGY
• Look into the basic specifications.
Is it a new layer 1?
Is it a new dAPP?
Knowing the technology they use will make you better understand their competition.
5) • How far are they in development?
Do they have a working product?
Do they have any alpha or beta test?
Projects that have a cryptocurrency token but nothing else to show for it doesn't end well often.
Search for anything they have already delivered so far.
6) TEAM
• Background check of the founders.
Visit LinkedIn to see their previous experience and accomplishments.
• Quick check of the entire team.
Visit the website to see who else is working there.
How large is the company?
7) KEY FIGURES
• What's the market cap?
Knowing the value of the token gives you a better perspective of future potential.
• Historical price development.
See how the token has been performing in its lifetime.
Multiple years of nothing usually doesn't magically change.
8) • Supply check
Look at the circulating supply vs max supply.
A low circulating supply means a huge amount of tokens are yet to be released.
This will add sell pressure if there's not enough demand to accompany it.
9) MARKETING
• Media mentions.
What's written about them already?
Any major blogs putting the word out there?
It doesn't matter if they are paid or not a legit project will never see the day of light if no one knows about it.
10) • Frequent news updates.
Is the company communicating well? Are they posting frequent updates or are they silent?
It's absolutely vital for a project to communicate well and often.
Potential investors need to see what's being achieved and delivered behind the scenes.
11) COMMUNITY
• Activity check on social media channels.
Is the telegram or discord channel filled with life or is it dead?
Good activity usually represents real followers and not just non-engaged numbers.
12) • Community sentiment.
Where there is smoke, there is fire. Listen to what the community says.
While a lot of information can be false or perceived as "FUD" it also can be valid arguments.
Listen to what they are saying and see where the smoke comes from.
13) While a solid fundamental background check will always take time these 6 metrics will help analyze projects in less than 15 minutes.
All of these usually only require the use of 3 websites.
- Official page
- Coingecko.
- LinkedIn.
14) • The official page for "idea and technology"
• Coingecko for "key figures, community and marketing"
• LinkedIn for the "team".
