We don't make Kufr of the "ahl al-Qiblah - The people of the Qiblah".
Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri explains this in Ikfar al-Mulhidin:
Allamah Anwar Shah Kashmiri explains this in Ikfar al-Mulhidin:
"The people of Qiblah in the terminology of the Mutakallimun is a person who attests to the essential elemets of deen (daruriyat al-Din) meaning the matters the evidence of which is known in the Shari'ah and it is well-known (by the masses). Whoever denies anything of the
Daruriyat, like the universe being created, and bodies coming back to life and being gathered, or Allah's knowledge of specifics, or Salah or fast being fard, is not from the ahl-Qiblah; even if he is from the people of the Qiblah.
Similarly, if a person does something which is a sign of denying, like prostrating to the idol or disgracing a matter of Shariah or making fun of it is not from the people of the Qiblah.
The meaning of "not making Takfir of the Ahl -Qiblah" is that they are not considered Kafir if they do major sins, nor if they deny the hidden matters [of faith] which aren't famous in the masses."
