And HOW they will change your life...
1. Wisdom is your ability to define what is good, what is not good, and what is indifferent.
You gather wisdom by experiencing things, by taking action, by gathering knowledge, and by learning from past failures.
Wisdom is a "short cut" because...

Wisdom is a "short cut" because...
you can get it from going and learning from someone else's experiences, not just your own.
Having a mentor is a perfect way to gather knowledge.
All the greats had someone teaching them, all the greats gathered knowledge and wisdom from a mentor.

2. Courage is the opposing force of cowardice.
Courage is not the elimination or fear, desire or anxiety, it is acting in the right way despite our fear, desire and anxieties.
Doing what you know you need to do even in the face of fear.
Getting it done no matter the cost.

A person who does not feel fear cannot conquer it, and therefore does not show courage.
Courage is the act of overcoming those feelings that threaten to cause cowardice. It is doing the right thing even if we are afraid to do so.

First stages of fear are unavoidable.
The initial reaction to a falling building or a sinking ship is to panic and feel the grips of fear.
A grip that can threaten to take hold of rational thought and a clear mind.
Courage is knowing of this grip and doing the job anyway.

3. Justice in Stoicism is broader than justice in a political way.
For the Stoics, justice is our duty to our fellow man, and to our society.
Itβs the morality behind how we act, specifically in relation to our community and the people within it.

If we damage our community, we ultimately damage ourselves.
Now this is vital...
For stoics:

4. Temperance can also be called moderation.
It relates to self restraint, self discipline and self control.
It is our ability to choose long term well-being over short term satisfaction.

Being calm while internally battling our fears and failures.
Learning how to handle the battles and stay strong still.
Life throws a lot at us.
Knowing the outcome won't make us, but our reaction to the outcome is the thing that will shape us.

Stoicism can help weather the storms of life.
Learn to sail in rough seas, and calm seas will be easy to sail in.
Hard things make us better.
The obstacle is the way.
Courage is calling.
STAY STOIC.
