Pedri vs Musiala - Who is the better player? 🔥
Two of the biggest talents in the world. Two players at a similar age, playing for different clubs. They rank number 1 & 3 in most valuable U21 players according to Transfermarkt (Pedri: €90m, Musiala, €80m)
After Barca played Bayern, Pedri had to face a lot of disrespect. Without discrediting Musiala for his qualities (which are outstanding), it’s worth comparing them based on the roles they have, which are not the same.

With that said, it’s worth mentioning that Pedri is involved in Barca’s attacks further up the pitch, it just happens to be when we pin the opponents back, and less in transitions.
Pedri & Musiala have a similar xA (expected assists - Pedri: 1.5. Musiala: 1.6.). Pedri has 6 pre-assists, while Musiala has 1. Musiala is a bigger goal threat. He generates an higher xG, and averages more shots per game. This is due to his role in the team.
As players, they are different. You have to take that into consideration when comparing them. You can’t do it based on goals only, which you often see on social media. As a Barca fan, I wouldn’t trade Pedri for any player. I guess the same applies for Bayern fans & Musiala.
