These two concepts are intertwined but they are not the same thing. America is in decline and will be for a very long time. But America is also in danger of collapses in complexity taking place over 5-15 years due to de globalization, peak cheap energy, and mass scale war.
I would add many nations at the moment are in danger of collapse, the US is probably the ugliest politically but many nations are far worse off in terms of economy and geopolitics.
