Here’s a thread on getting a job overseas (cruise ship and land based)
Let’s start with land based. For US jobs…there’s an agency called Workaway (cpt based) they have a website workaway.com. The only thing is that they only recruit once a year for the Oct season in the US
Then there’s another agency called MTL. They have a Facebook page. They are US based but hire South Africans for seasonal US jobs. These jobs include chefs, waiters, bartenders, golf assistance etc because they hire mainly for golf clubs
Now the only disadvantage about US jobs is that interviews start usually around July and by September those that have gotten letters will be flying off to the US this month. So if you don’t make it now try again next year.
For Cruiseship it’s a bit difficult because they want people strictly from the hospitality industry (unless you finesse your cv 😋but when it comes to interviews you must know your stuff.) the number one agency I would recommend is GRISA
It’s called Gourmet recuitment international based in Cape Town. I have personally used her. She recruits for many many ships. Getting a job on the ship can take between 1-3 months because there’s interviews and trainings etc. They have a Facebook page
On LinkedIn, follow an international agency called Silver swan recruitment. They post tons of international jobs on there. Seabourn cruises posts their own jobs on LinkedIn so go check it out. Also follow “The World” they are a mega yacht that posts their jobs also.
All of the info I have posted on here I have personally tried myself. Cruiseship money is hella good but you work everyday for 6 months. Working in the US is much more chill but a little less that ships. If you want first hand experiences of working overseas let me know.👏🏽
