Here's what I would do if I was new to KDP and wanted to capitalise on Q4
Detailed Thread⏬
Before I start, for those that don't know, Q4 is the final 3 months of the year (near Christmas) where you see a huge uplift in sales as people buy for Christmas gifts
There's therefore a lot of opportunity to capitalise on this and this is how I would do it
My main goals of this next 3 months would be 2 things:
Get as many books out as possible
Get the right books out
Getting as many out as possible is easy right? Just work super hard at creating and uploading
But how do you get the right books?
The only books I'd even think about making are ones you can see being given as a gift. These will mainly be no content notebooks (notebooks etc) but can also be super low content books too
I wouldn't worry about detailed interiors etc as you don't have time
Now here's the thing
I WOULDN'T MAKE CHRISTMAS BOOKS
These are sooo competitive and how many times have you been given a Christmas gift that's actually Christmas themed?
You should make books that capitalise on christmas, but don't make them solely christmas themed
Instead I would make notebooks or super low content books that are funny/relevant and go after the secret santa/stoking filler niche
If it's a notebook you want to make, think about what's on trend/relevant and make funny covers based on that
I'll give an example below
This little dude took the world by storm with his 'corn' video I'm sure you've seen all over socials
This terrible-looking book is 65,000 IN BOOKS!
This shows the power of jumping on trends
Find trends and be creative with a funny cover
This is an example I knocked up in canva in 2 mins
It's unique, it's on trend and I can see it being given as secret Santa gifts to people who love the meme
It's not a Christmas themed book either. It uses Christmas to sell but it's just a meme notebook
This book isn't just about the trend, nor is it just about Christmas... it's right in between the two
This is where the sweet spot is when it comes to making sales from notebooks in Q4
This has gone from idea to creation in literally 10 mins, it is that easy
Other sources of relevant ideas can come from
Social media
Netlfix
General things happening in the world
The list goes on
If you don't want to do trends think of audiences
Teachers
Uni students (and their subjects)
Doctors
You can make creative books for all of these
For each trend/audience I'd make 5 or so different designs and then upload them in bulk
If you have tangent templates, then this is where the listing helper will really help you
If not, make a listing with keywords etc and then just copy and paste the keywords for the next book
Now it's super important you target the right keywords
Things like 'secret santa', 'stocking filler', 'gift', 'gag gift', 'christmas', 'funny' are all really good keywords to use as they help you target that audience that are buying gifts for christmas
I'd aim to make and upload 5 of these every single day until at least mid December. By then you'll have around 350 books listed and I can almost guarantee you'll make a lot of money
Set yourself the goal today of doing that and I'd love to see all the books you've made in 2 months time
I've given all this info on a plate, there are no excuses
All you have to do now is put the work in
Most people reading this will give up
Don't be one of those people
I hope you found this thread useful, if you want to see more of this then make sure you're following me on Twitter

Places like Etsy are also great sources for these sorts of books
Have a look what designs people have made on things like mugs etc and see if they have made their way to notebooks on Amazon
If not, make them or at least take inspiration from them
