UPSC Jehad : Truth or Fiction (Thread)
If u r active on Twitter then u must have come across these claims :
1. Govt is trying to inc Mslm share in IAS
2. Number of Mslm r drastically increasing in IAS/IPS
In this thread, U will get unbiased answers of all these questions
1/17
Question No 1 : Is govt providing free training to Mslm for UPSC preparations ?
Ans is Yes.
Minority ministry runs various schemes for free UPSC preparation to Mslms but schemes r not only for Mslms there r similar schemes for SC/ST, OBC and women candidate also by MoSJE
In 2010, UPA govt established 5 centers for UPSC training:
Jamia
AMU
Jamia Humdard
MANU Hyderbad
BAU Delhi
But these centers r not only for Msls.
SC, ST, OBC n any woman can take training from here at free of cost
IAS Topper Shruti Sharma got training from Jamia
Question 2 : Jakat is giving free UPSC training to Mslms
Answer is Yes
and they r getting funding from it from various Mslm sources but it is completely their social program and it didn't make any difference till now.
RSS backed Sankalp also provide free UPSC training to Hindus
and result of Sankalp is far far better than Jakat trained UPSC aspirants.
Sankalp is providing UPSC training to Hindus since 1986
Question 3 : Mslm getting reservation in OBC and SC/ST also
Ans is Yes
Few Mslms caste get reservation in OBC category but not in SC/ST
Few Mslm castes r in OBC reservation from 1990 n in all govt exams
Infect it has been found that most of the Mslm who r selected in UPSC r from Mslm OBC category.
Question 4 : Age relaxation for Mslm in UPSC ?
Ans is No
there is no special age relaxation for Mslm in UPSC
Max age for
General : 32 years
OBC : 35 years
SC/ST : 37
Question 5 : Mslm gets extra attempt in UPSC exams
Ans is No
Mslms doesn't get any extra attempts
General gets 6 attempt
OBC 9 attempts
SC/ST unlimited attempts till age of 37
Question 6 : Most of the Mslm r getting selected through Islamic studies subject
Ans is No
There is no such subject like Islamic studies in UPSC Mains. There is ‘Urdu Literature’ as an option. But there is Odia, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi are also given as options.
Also, it can be seen that the syllabus of Sanskrit literature has topics such as –
‘Main characteristics of Vedic Sanskrit language’, ‘General Knowledge of Ramayana, Mahabharata’
Question no 7 : Mslm gets more marks in Interview
Here answer is Yes
Though there is not much data on it but there is a research by a website Yugaparivartan.com for year 2017 that says that Mslms got 13 marks more than non mslm in interviews
13 marks is big difference
Average score of non mslm in written : 806
Average score of mslm in written : 793
Average score of non mslm in interview : 169
Average score of non mslm in interview : 181
full research here
yugaparivartan.com
Question 8 : Now the last and big one. Number of selected Mslm candidate in UPSC is increasing
And Ans is No
Here r the data from 2016 to 2020
In 2021 : out of 682, there were 25 Mslm selected that was the lowest in 10 years
in 2006, the share of Mslm in IAS/IPS was 3.5%
And if see today also its almost similar
2016 and 2017 were 2 years when 50 Mslms were selected. except these 2 years their number is almost same. So if 100 people r selected than 4% r Mslm and 96% r Hindu n others
While Mslm population is around 15-20%
So the conclusion is:
1. Govt providing free training to all communities except general boys
2. There is no increase in Mslm selection in IAS, it's almost same that was in 2006 or before.
3. Mslm doesn't get any special privilege in subjects, attempt and selection
Only shocking thing I found is 13 extra marks to Mslm in interviews. Though data of only 1 year so need more research on it.
I have answered all the questions related to UPSC jehad theory circulated on SM, now I leave to readers to decide.
UJ is truth of fiction ?
17/17
So as much data I have, I can deduce
- There is no such as UJ. It's completely fake propaganda n conspiracy theory
- There is no increase in Mslm in IAS/IPS in Modi govt time. It's almost same or little less than UPA.
