5 branding lessons from Apple you should hang on your wall:
1/ Brand positioning is about taking a stand
What do you stand for?
Apple stands for the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers.
John Lennon, Ali, Einstein.
People who challenge the status quo.
The same way Apple has always done.
2/ Brand values should be at the core of everything you do
Simplicity is a key value at Apple:
Simple products βž” Easy to use.
Simple marketing βž” Think different.
Simple communication βž” Jargon-free.
3/ Your brand mission should feed your vision
Vision is the ultimate goal:
Apple βž” "Make the best products on earth."
Mission is how you'll get there:
Apple βž” β€œCreate the best customer experience through innovative hardware, software, and services.”
4/ Your brand purpose should focus on ONE problem
In 1997, technology had complicated interfaces and used jargon-communication.
Steve Jobs then united his team behind a single purpose:
Make technology so simple that everyone can take part in it.
5/ Your brand archetype should match your personality
Apple’s archetype is the Creator, which involves:
- Creativity
- Innovation
- Imagination
- Nonconformity
And this was highly influenced by Steve Jobs' personality.
Now get building!
