What happened in Florida during the 1700βs??
Here it is, pictured as a more or less solid peninsula in 1600βs mapping.

Then, in 1718, it begins to take on a bit of a different shape
These two maps are from 1764 & 1780. This is a pretty dramatic shift, and itβs quite detailed
And finally, by 1782 & 1784, it returns to the former shape, staying about the same up to present day
So, 1600βs and present day mostly similar, but 1700βs maps, spanning much of the century, starkly different. @1_analog_9
