Zamorins Malabar was destroyed by him. It was easy pickings for the British. Travancore exhausted itself to save the remainder of Kerala from Tipu's religious rabies. Alliance with EIC was a forced faustian bargain for Pazhassi and Travancore to survive the rabid Tipu.

I will also admit, however, I am no fan of the Wodeyar dynasty. I know many people are. They have great deeds to their merit during the Vijayanagar era, but by the 18th century they became a political liability.
