Ancient Beauty Secrets Thread 🐚🌼
Once upon a time there lived our ancestors who used the Earth and the gifts of God to nourish their bodies inside and out. They didn't depend on Sephora or Bath & Body Works for their beauty. Wanna know what their ✨secrets✨ are? Read away:
1. Saffron
The Gold of Greek Earth as it is called, was among the most popular and valuable spices of ancient civilizations, for its flavor, color, pharmaceutical and aphrodisiac properties.
Cleopatra used it in her cosmetics and food and we also find it in The Old Testament.
Saffron helps treat acne, gives a peachy glow, heals scars, balances pH levels of skin and reduces pigmentation.
When consumed by ingestion acts as an aphrodisiac.

2. Rose Water (Persia/Pakistan)🌹
This iconic bloom is more than just a pretty face. It minimises the appearance of large pores. It can help prevent fine lines and wrinkles and diminish the look of existing ones. It balances skin’s natural oils.
Some rose water is drinkable, and people use it for various purposes. However, only pure rose water is ok to drink.

3. Sandalwood:
Sandalwood is an aromatic wood that retains it's fragrance for decades. It's oil is extracted from the woods for use. Often cited as one of the most expensive woods in the world, the wood and the oil produce a distinctive fragrance that's been valued for centuries.
Sandalwood powder applied to the skin balances the excess oil and sebum on the face, nourishes the skin, and provides relief from acne. Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, sandalwood is good for skin as it helps treat skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis
Sandalwood is rich in antioxidants that prevent skin sagging and the consequent formation of wrinkles.
Apply the sandalwood oils as you would a serum, on your face and on your body.

4. 🌿 Fenugreek:
One of the oldest medicinal plants, fenugreek's earliest recorded use dates back to the ancient Egyptians. Both Hippocrates and Pliny also refer to the herb. Remains have been found in Egypt as early as 3000BCE. Fenugreek seeds were found in Tutankhamun's tomb.
This seemingly lowly herb also bears something of a super-natural reputation, transcending the boundaries between magic, medicine and cosmetics. It's key word is "increase." A tea made from the seeds is a staple recipe for increasing mother's milk and also a popular aphrodisiac.
Fenugreek has a plethora of anti-aging chemicals that help in keeping your skin firm, vibrant and youthful by fighting the free radical damage in your skin efficiently, it also has natural anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.
Crush the seeds lightly in a mortar and pestle and add them to the oil. Allow them to soak for half an hour. Strain the seeds from the oil. Massage the oil into your skin, while thinking "youthful" thoughts and hope for the best!

Now that you're blessed with this knowledge ditch your chemical beauty products and embrace God's abundant gifts. Which of the favours of your Lord will you deny? 🌱🌼🌳🌹🌺🌸
