They stay curious. Healthy families don't assume they know everything about each other already. Each member is learning and growing, and the others are eager to watch them change and learn about them as they grow.
They keep talking. Healthy families keep communication open on purpose so they know what's going on. That allows them to support and help each other in the ways each person needs so no one falls through a gap.
They support each other. Without enabling, the family gives real support to each other during times of need. That might mean cash assistance, but it could also mean daily phone calls during sad times, help learning new skills, networking connections, and shared prosperity.
They cooperate. A healthy family doesn't make decisions upon each other without consulting and talking it through. Each member has dignity that is respected by the whole group. That's what makes them a family.
