This narrative is based on a story from a later Tibetan text, “Pag-Sam Jon-Zang” written 500 years after Nalanda was burned. It gives a fictitious story of Brahmin tirthakas burning Nalanda, & the leftists- j!hadis dismissing Khalji court records, use this as ‘historical evidence
There was an early scene of fire (from a lamp burning inside- a similar incident happened in Sravasti monastery that burned down the beautiful multi-storeyed structure there too), but the Pala kings renovated the damaged parts of Nalanda completely, & documented the repairs done.
This page & the above one are from Minhaj-I-Siraj’s “Tabaqat-i Nasiri” where he described how khalji burned down Nalanda.
Nalanda curriculum included Hindu scriptures, & the university had qualified brahmin tirthakas who taught there! Hiuen Tsang has mentioned this in his book.
