The most powerful tool for YouTubers:
YouTube Analytics
However, most beginners don't know how to read and understand the data
5 simple analytics metrics that will help you to grow your channel:

YouTube uses a 5 metric funnel to grow your channel:
1. Impressions
2. Click through rate
3. Views
4. View duration
5. Watch time
Let's understand what are these and how to use them to grow your channel
1. Impressions
No of impressions is the times when YouTube showed your video to people in different places
How to increase the impressions?
Check traffic sources
Understand how people are finding your video or channel
Make more content targeting those keywords
2. Click Through Rate
It's the % of people who clicked on your video
If YT showed your video to 100 people and 3 clicked on it then CTR is 3%
In general, a higher CTR is desirable but 3-5% is a decent value
3 things that help to improve CTR
• Title
• Thumbnail
• Topic
3. No of Views
It's the simplest one
The higher the views, the better
But you can understand which videos have the highest number of views
And learn from them to create more such videos
You can share your best videos on a diff platform or a blog to generate more traffic
4. Avg View Duration
It's the % of a video that people watch on average
If it's a 10-minute video and people watch 4 minutes of it, the avg is 40%
It's one of the key metrics
To improve it:
• Use a good hook
• Keep it concise
• Deliver what you promise in the title
5. Watch Time
YT wants to keep the audience on the platform for a longer duration
Higher watch time directly indicates that
To improve it:
• Create playlists
• Link relevant video in the end screen
• One long video or a few short videos that people can binge watch
5 key metrics on YouTube analytics:
1. Number of impressions
2. CTR
3. Number of views
4. Avg view duration
5. Watch time
That's a wrap!
