1. Profit-Based Bidding
• after scaling from $100/day to $500/day with Max Conversions, the CPA was a tad low for the client ($150)
• switched MC to tCPA and allowed Google to learn this restrictive strategy
• slowly dropped tCPA to hit the goal (<$100)
2. Engaged Nurturing
• our TOF search at a low 1-1.5% conversion rate, we needed to nurture our new traffic until they were done researching and be there when they needed to convert
• created different segments to track site/product engagement
• started display remarketing
3. Keyword Simplification
•we started out with about 20 keywords and slowly added converting search terms
•after tCPA, Google naturally "killed" under-performing keywords
•assist the algo by creating better-themed ad groups
•make sure ad copy x landing page is relevant
