How to increase your chances of clearing an interview?
This is the framework I follow and it has worked wonders for me ๐Ÿงตโœจ
1. Be like Jim Halpert
Yeah skills are important but for that a coding test is enough to judge your abilities.
Interviews are all about knowing what would it be like to work on a problem with you.
Would you want to work with you?
2. Align yourself with the company
Reflect on what the company values the most.
For Microsoft having a "Growth Mindset" matters a lot.
Google even has a name for it - "Googlyness".
3. Mock Interviews
It boots your confidence and helps you discover your weak points so you can work on them beforehand.
This is a game changer โœจ
The ideal platform for it is Pramp if you don't know someone personally.
pramp.com
4. Recent Interview Experiences
Talk to someone who has recently given interviews for the position.
The best loophole in tech interviews is that there is a 90% chance that you will get REPEATED questions.
Use that to your advantage.
Where you can find them?
- Medium is a good place to start. You could also contact the author on LinkedIn. More chances of them replying if you mention that you are a reader.
- Leetcode Discussion Section is also very helpful
- And we have our good old LinkedIn!
5. Radiate Confidence
Act like you own the job ๐Ÿ’ช
Even if you 'feel' like you are not skilled enough, confidence will compensate for it.
I'm sure you would surprise yourself during an interview!
All the best and stay tuned for more โœจ
