Firstly, this Hadīth was narrated by al-Bukhārī, Muslim, Abu Dawūd, al-Nasā‘ī, Ibn Abī Shaybah, al-Bazzār, al-Humaydī, al-Tahāwī, Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, Abu Ya’lā, al-Bayhaqī, Abu Nu’aym and others
Time to throw out all the books of Sunan?
A similar issue happened with al-Shaykh Nūr al-Dīn Itr in a conference with a Sunnah rejector.
The Sunnah rejector made this long speech on how al-Bukhārī fabricated this and al-Bukhārī did this, did that, it has this Hadīth, that issue, this issue..
So Shaykh Nūr al-Dīn briefly and intelligently asked him: Put aside al-Bukhārī, was there this same issue with Muslim? al-Tirmidhī? Ibn Mājah?
Second point, al-Hāfidh Abu Nu’aym al-Haddād wrote a book called Jāmi’ al-Sahīhayn
What he did in this book is that he narrated the same Ahādīth from al-Bukhārī in his Sahīh, while stepping over al-Bukhārī in narration.
This will become clearer with this same Hadīth that has been brought forward
First image is al-Bukhārī, second is Abu Nu’aym
Now both these are the same Hadīth, but they have different chains
Abu Nu’aym narrates this Hadīth directly from al-Bukhārī's teachers, sidestepping al-Bukhārī
In this case it's Hāshim Ibn Hāshim, see how both chains meet at him
Remember, same Hadīth.
So essentially what we have here, is proof that al-Bukhārī was not fabricating Ahādīth and bringing them out of thin air, rather he is taking them directly from his teachers, to the Prophet ﷺ, including this Hadīth.
Note: there are many works in this style. Mustakhrajāt.
I repeat, attacking al-Imām al-Bukhārī is attacking Islām.
نسأل الله السلام.
