I have long said that middle American radicals are quickly becoming an ethnic block. Ethnicities can generate extremely quickly. We have this idea that it would have to take a millennium, but it can often just be two generations.
It is important to note that an ethnogenesis can occur before a clean genetic cluster forms. The proscription to marry in begins socially and thereafter you observe genetic differentiation.
In biology there is a concept known as an โisolating mechanismโ once two populations are far apart genetically where this is a loss in fitness for hybridization, isolating mechanism will form.
Humans donโt have to wait for anatomical or immunological mechanisms to snow up because culture itself becomes an isolating mechanism.
If I were to guess in 70 years we probably have three ethnicities forming. Chud (very Anglo and Mexican with occasional Filipino or Vietnamese admixture); black (with some white admixture); and metro (upper class whites with some northwest asian and limited black admixture).
