Had a look at the "To understand China you need to understand whiteness" article and it's just as nonsensical pseudo-scientific as you might expect.
Short thread
Some race hustler scholar claims the Chinese were seen as white:
The Chinese in question:
Most Chinese encountered by the first Europeans in Asia would have been almost black due to manual labor in the sun, and a stigma against dark skin for that reason persists today.
Not to mention that the Chinese are more racist than most Westerners could ever imagine.
Anyone who's spent even a little time in East Asia or studied their languages knows that "racialized thinking" is not some new Western import but deeply engrained in their languages and cultures.
The author tells white people they don't have the racial literacy to understand China's whiteness.
Somehow this gibberish got published by Australia's taxpayer-funded national broadcaster:
I also looked up Stan Grant, he seems to be 1/4 Australian Aborigine at most, probably no more than 1/8th, but of course he's parlayed that into fortune and fame.
Australia is so racist getting a tan and playing up your indigenous heritage is good for your career.
