@inamdar_malhar @MJaadugar Indian society on nearly all levels - knowledge output, economically, mil-tech-science, etc… slowly retarded post caste calcification. Knowledge became siloed. Parochialism was so stringent that castes would ally with foreigners against other castes simply out of caste rivalry…
@inamdar_malhar @MJaadugar Hierarchy was ritualized & there was 0 elite churn in India leading to stagnant societies that became uncompetitive with outside world again in multiple aspects. Parochialism in community became parochialism of the mind. Hindus treated each other like utter & complete shit.
@inamdar_malhar @MJaadugar Ambedkar describes the state of Hindus like rats in holes because of their obsession with caste. Arrogantly & fearfully they wouldn’t venture out, all that they had & wanted was in those holes. I agree that Hindu society essentially became that.
@inamdar_malhar @MJaadugar Earlier Dvijas had much more responsibilities & would be punished for transgressing their norms, this balanced varnashram. Post various dharma shastras that added XYZ asterisks for random scenarios, the responsibilities/norms were thrown out the window, but privilege remained
@inamdar_malhar @MJaadugar All in all, I don’t mind if people want to keep endogamy today. Esp as it keeps certain jati specific rituals and traditions. It does give diversity. But the breakdown of caste/endogamy (varnashram has been slowly destroyed since 1 CE tbh) will provide opportunities & liberation.
