I have never seen Luhyas & Luos surviving on relief food.
In fact, Luhyas, Luos & Kisiis living in cities eat food sent to them by their rural folks.
Why do you call them poor?
Poverty begins with hunger.
Hunger begins with the death of our indigenous crops.
#BetterTogether
By allowing the importation of alien foods like corn flour & GMO seeds we relinquish our food sovereignty to global crooks.
Our local farmers will be beggars & our traditional crop diversity will be compromised.
Global crooks like Monsanto with their GMOs cannot feed a nation.
A nation is fed by its native soils.
GMO farming in Afrika pollutes our soils because of the accompanying fertilizers.
Therefore, our crops will lack the vital trace minerals that our bodies need for nourishment.
NB: there is a silent pandemic of trace minerals deficiency.
GMO farming kills weeds.
We have demonised weeds yet they play an important soil-fixing role in the ecosystem.
They add nitrogen and alkaline elements to the soils. This is important.
Their flowers feed insects like bees and butterflies.
Finally, GMO farming extinguishes important animals like snakes, rodents, lizards, worms, bugs and insects.
These animals are part of our ecosystem.
They complete our survival as human beings.
We need snakes to eat rodents. Without snakes, the hawks will eat our chicken etc
Afrika is not hungry because we lack food.
Afrika is hungry because we have surrendered our food sovereignty to global crooks and lost our crop diversity.
Afrikans cannot live on corn flour.
We must protect our traditional food supply chain from GMOs.
