Only in this past year did I realize how much free labor I was giving away. Iโm still upset about it, and Iโm also upset that people disproportionately take advantage of my women & URM friends for free consulting and PR.

The exceptions are: platforms where I exclusively promote my papers/work to a large audience and pro bono consulting for some orgs that donโt have the resources to pay. These do not include free 1:1 chats with VCs I donโt already know or massively funded companies.
I donโt wish to antagonize anyone in particular, but these things need to be said.
