if youre new to my account, i mostly tweet jokes about finance & tech. there are however a few items about which im serious
• building a semiconductor fab in the US
• establishing computing as a literacy alongside reading & writing
• helping w a gov sponsored LBO of ASML

a little bit more about me -
i had some great teachers when i was young who taught me about computers & software and that led to me falling in love w science & technology at an early age. i also love markets and i’m always trying to further my understanding of how reality works

since i spend a lot of time in tmt land (and since i plan on investing for my entire life lol) recently ive been trying to learn as much about macro as possible. i’ve also been learning about the commercialization of innovation & the incentive structures of modern capital markets
recently a friend told me i should be more vocal about my ambitions - i’ve always rly admired what David Shaw has built & one of my goals is to to do something similar where we build a top notch fund that leverages its profits & talent to build a world class research institution
as for the research, i believe humanity’s best chance for a prosperous future is one where the entire civilization is computationally literate. what exactly this looks like, i’m not sure, but i’m very inspired by the work of ppl like Alan Kay & Bret Victor’s dynamicland project
modern science is constrained by the amount of time & work required to specialize in a given subject. a society of ppl fluent in computing will hopefully give rise to the sort of cross pollination between disciplines that’s necessary to spark new ideas & inspire research projects
anyway, i don’t pretend to know anything & i recognize there’s a long way to go and lots of work to be done to achieve even a fraction of these goals but i guess tweeting it out makes it a bit realer and provides a sort of mechanism for holding myself accountable in the long term
