Soldiers of the Royal army of Oman showcase their Challenger-2 MBT'S to their British counterparts.
Via "Challenger Tank Appreciation Society"
1/
The CR2 Oman was built with the CV12-8A with rear mounted PTO driven rear cooling fans and T2 cooling system, enhanced AC system(side vent seen on the right Hull side here).
2/
Rear fuel tanks moved to a vertical position and increased water storage in the form of additional Jerry can storage on the turret cheeks.
3/
The CV12-8A+T2 cooling pack was designed with greater engine cooling however upon delivery to oman vickers discovered that the "hurricane like winds" produced by the rear mounted fans were ideal for reducing dust intake into the engine.
4/
The CV12-8A is a better pack than the british army's CR2's 6A as aside from the T2 cooling it plays host to many improved electronical subsystems and would go on to be used for the Cr2 based armoured engineering vehicles.
