Writing every day got me 200K followers across my socials.
I only write for 30 minutes a day.
Writing well helps.
But many bad writers have more followers than you.
What matters is the system they use.
Here’s a 7-step system to grow a brand with your writing.
This was me before writing every day:
- Broke
- Unhappy
- Clueless about my future
Today?
- Financially stable
- Pleased with my life
- Looking forward to my future
Here’s the 7-step system to use your writing to grow a brand.
Step 1 – Develop the habit.
Here’s the blueprint:
Start with 100 words.
Then add 50–100 every week.
Do this until you can write 300-500 words in less than 30 minutes.
Write about anything during this step.
Step 2 – Ideate rapidly
Pick a topic.
Go to title-generator dot com.
And generate ideas about your topic with this app.
Congrats!
You got 300 ideas in 5 seconds.
Step 3 – Write for 30 minutes
Write your first draft.
Get it done fast.
Ignore typos and syntax.
Eg. this post’s first draft took me 16 minutes to write and 13 minutes to edit.
Step 4 – Edit ruthlessly
Unclear writing scares off readers.
So spend some time editing.
Join Quillbot.
It’s an AI that tells you:
- Grammar mistake.
- A summary of your writing.
- Alternative ways to say the same idea.
Step 5 – Start posting online
It takes courage to publish your work.
And people will respect you for that.
Post your work even if you think it sucks.
But where to publish?
Don’t start a blog.
Start on Twitter or Instagram because you get immediate feedback.
Step 6 – Create templates
Start collecting content you love.
Then turn it into templates.
This will help you create more quickly.
Step 7 – Distribute and repurpose
Everything I write goes to Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
I don’t write new stuff for each of my socials.
Neither should you.
Just change the text a bit to fit the medium.
Repurpose everything.
That's a wrap!
