LIFE-SATISFACTION
Life-satisfaction is the most fundamental need. It can be met when someone feels that their life is moving toward a better state. You can satisfy the need by being proactive in life, exploring your curiosities and having meaningful relationships.

CHANGE & GROWTH
As humans, we have a desire for new experiences in order to grow. Boredom can indicate a poor mental health state where we feel life has become stale. As a result the need for change becomes desirable to satisfy the need for growth.

FREEDOM
The feeling of agency & autonomy. Despite the restrictions of life, we are given the freedom of choice. You can choose not to be free in the present for the sake of your future freedom – and you can also sacrifice our own freedom for the sake of someone else's.

SELF-ACTUALISATION
This is where our most unique ikigai comes to life. It is to dedicate yourself to a personal mission that you feel obligated to pursue. It is the joy of creativity; to create something new that has not existed before.

MEANING & VALUE
Whether we know it or not, we are constantly asking the meaning of our life in every experience. This urges us to ask questions about the meaning & value of our life. If our answers are not ‘life-affirming’, we won’t be able to experience ikigai-kan.

A SENSE OF PURPOSE
A sense of responsibility for what you're living for, related to what you have to do in life, especially something that can be accomplished by you alone. It is something that you must discover for yourself to experience a strong sense of ikigai-kan.

IKIGAI-KAN
The most genuine aspact about ikigai-kan is that it involves your feelings. Ikigai is something you feel. It is related to one’s sense of self-worth and personal values. And it is more future-oriented than happiness.
