I'm preparing 'Codex 2 - Fierce Compassion' for a potential museum exhibit next year, and wrote a brief artist statement. It's one of my favorite artworks over the last two years, owned by @kodavista01

@kodavista01 My release strategy for the Codex series is to mint a trio of three NFTs
The first provides funding for the physical fabrication of the CNC milled aluminum frame and all the circuitboards, again, owned by @kodavista01

@kodavista01 @Anson_LauHK Finally I release a digital only "ghost" copy of the Codex, rendered in white.
The previous NFTs act like digital certificates for the physical artwork, but the ghost copy is a digitally native edition

Pre-funding art a like this is a game changer. Normally you have to take all of the risk up front without knowing if you've got a buyer on the other side of potentially hundreds of hours of work and thousands in production costs.
This way, at least the costs are covered.

I've been able to produce a number of high cost high risk artworks like this over the last two years, and I'd encourage any artist reading this to experiment with this pre-funded model
Especially if you're a purely digital artist who has yet to venture into physical production
