Google announced PassKey support for both Android and Chrome on 12/10/2022. Paypal announced PassKey support on 25/10/2022.
/2 Passkeys, also backed by Apple and Microsoft, is claimed to be a significantly ๐ฌ๐š๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ for passwords.

/3 ๐Ÿ”นStep 1 - create PassKeys
The end-user needs to confirm the account information and present their credentials (face ID, touch ID, etc.).
A private key is generated based on the public key provided by the website. The private key is stored on the device.
/4 ๐Ÿ”นStep 2 - sign in with PassKeys on devices
When the user tries to sign in to a website, they use the generated private key. Just select the account information and present the credentials to unlock the private key.
/5 Consequently, there is no risk of password leakage since no passwords are stored in the database.
Passkeys are built on ๐ข๐ง๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐š๐ซ๐๐ฌ, and it works across different platforms and browsers with a ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ ๐ž๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž.
