Who is Devesh Kumar? - A good storyteller.
In his 2016 blogpost, he had claimed to have adopted a babygirl from a dead mother and HIV+ parents, while he was 19 and unmarried.
Alteast legally, a single male can't adopt a female child in India.

During his TEDx talk in 2014 titled - "The addiction of doing things", it's mentioned that he volunteered for NACO for 6 yrs, and AID India for 3 yrs.
He claims a baby girl died in his arms, whose parents died due to AIDS.
After this he adopted Manjiri.

In his 2019 blogpost, he claimed that Manjiri (8) had passed away and he couldn't find the courage to see her the last time.
Let us assume that though he had not legally adopted her, but he was paying for her daycare and education, while working away.

In his Quora post, he mentions that his colleague Rabya (19) had breast cancer, and passed away 15 mins. after he agreed to pay her operation bills.
She was a single child, of an divorced mother.
Rabya though just 19, could code in 5 comp. languages.

In his Quora post, Devesh claims that his colleague Manvi all of a sudden passed away after a week of fever, typhoid and brain hemorrhage; just some before their project's presentation.

It came to me multiple times, if it's ethical and if it's appropriate to mention Devesh's personal life.
Its possible all the above stories all true or all are false, or some are indeed actually are true.
We don't know and I don't intend to mock his personal life and choices.
But having said that, I find it absurd that someone at a young age, with multiple recognitions and startups - without any stable source of income, chooses to financially help acquaintances, or atleast claims to.
And makes a emotional pitch about it.

If you have read between the lines, there is a possibility that he has many lenders, who were due.
But his flow of money stopped, and this is where his Reddit and Meta journey started, by asking for more monetary support.

Lookup who is Vinayakjeet Kumar aka Vinny Lohan, and what is his relation with Devesh Kumar.
You will find similarities in their timelines, their grand claims and their love for being in the media.
Once you understand their psyche, you will understand the motives.
On 16th Oct, The Wire's Editor S. Varadarajan tweeted that Devesh's Twitter and an email presumably handled by him, were hacked.
On 18th Oct, when the scrutiny of The Wire / Devesh increased, he deactivated his Twitter - to eat "chaat & golgappe".
I like this guy's confidence.
Acc. to his blogs he claimed to have adopted Manjiri in around 2011; when he was just 19-20.
At TEDx talk, he claimed to have volunteered at NACO India for 6 years. But left later due to loss of a newborn baby in his arms.
After which he adopted Manjiri.
Unless the guy has some serious troubled past, I don't see kids in their 13-14s starting to volunteer at an AIDs organisation
Imp. to note: He left NACO, due to "emotional trauma" - similar cop-out pattern, when the scrutiny on him starts, and he goes on with another story.
2017: Vinny Lohan and Devesh Kumar share their "award-winning" work, at a symposium at RAD Design Studio, Mumbai.
2022: Devesh Kumar's last trail at the crime scene - also found forged. 😹
Will mention more about Vinayakpreet Kumar aka Vinny Lohan, if he officially enters the scene.
Don't want to end up setting a witch-hunt right now, because of his previous association.
But both have been partners for a decade.

The Wire's team could had avoided this major embarassment, had they asked themselves the basic question:
Why would Devesh deploy 40 Amazon servers, to track 2 lakh a/cs and paid 2+ lakh for it?
And that too during 2020 lockdowns, when people lost jobs.
In his 2016 blogpost, Devesh claimed he met Radhika (12) at NACO. She was sexually abused by a policeman, and passed away 4 years later due to HIV.
Another friend/colleague of his from JNU, a drug addict, made it great in life. But Snigdha passed away.

In college, D Labs won the prestigious Microsoft Imagine Cup in 2012, under the "People's Choice Award" for a software for dyslexic kids.
A Twitter user claimed, the whole college was made to vote online for it & Devesh allegedly ran bots for fake votes.

Episode of Young Turks, CNBC TV18 in 2012:
Shereen Bhan did an episode on Devesh Kumar and his team, D-Labs winning at the India level, and further going on for world finals of the Microsoft Imagine Cup.
Please remember this was "People's Choice Award".

If the allegations on Devesh regarding rigging of online polls, for the coveted Microsoft Imagine cup are indeed correct - it explains that he doesn't mind bypassing the system, for glory.
From his TEDx - "It became like a madness, I have to win this..."
Devesh Kumar even allegedly faked offer letters from top companies like Microsoft and Amazon, in his Final year.
I can't vouch the authenticity of this, but having read his previous claims and the other puff pieces, you get a clue of his MO.

Our world works with a lot of presumptions.
And con artists use it beautifully to bypass the areas, we think we already know.
There is a certain mystique to it; they're good observers & speak domain languages.
"You have to entertain" ft. Devesh Kumar.
