It is quite difficult for human to separate an individual from a group. One of the "errors", that we collectively judge or label a group of people.
Albeit, an individual represent a group, and may unconsciously or intentionally propagate their agenda or culture.

For example, a victim of online fraud, repeatedly scammed by individuals from a certain country will hardly state he was scammed by an individual. He would say, that countrymen are fraudsters. This has to be said enough for other population to believe.
Same reason there are gender wars and subtle or obvious racism. "Men are scum, Women are trash. Whites are this, Blacks are that." The result of personal/shared experience of an individual.
A woman who was raped will rightly show disdain for Men or show insecurities with Men.

But see, It wasn't "Men" who raped her, but an individual.
Some Men chants fear Women or women are not good people, because of their horrible personal experience with one lady. Or the many they've heard, which creates false reality.

So the question is, is it right for all members of a group suffer the atrocities of an individual? At the same time, I believe in human pattern recognition, for self preservation. If a snake bites you, it is wise to be cautious around other snakes, even with the nonvenomous.
We can argue, if a particular behavior is commonly identified with a group, could it be true, it is actually their culture and there will only be few exceptions?
If many say women are not good people. Could that generally be true, and there are just few or no good ones?
