and then, thats where the patreon comes in. realistically doing the art thing is rough. something breaks in the studio - or, i need to order some very expensive test prints - or, i thought this fabric would work, but it doesnt, dead end, turn around, theres always 'money stuff'
the money from the patreon lets me free up time from random jobs, which i (really) appreciate, but that do not advance the operation. i can go further and harder out on a limb with the safety net. the stuff im dropping for the holidays, i spent months on. patreon lets me do that.
im all in. i wake up, im thinking about this. im taking it "there" (all the way). i can do it. i always have a notebook with me. i fall asleep reading things that are relevant to this every night. this is it. i have no hobbies.

its always different. sometimes its plans im making long term, sometimes its random drawings, sketches, sometimes its comic ideas and longer comics: its really just everything happening behind the scenes. as a body of work, im very proud of it. its a very cool part of what i do.
normally, im pretty cagey about posting stuff from there to the outside world but, enough time has passed and i want to show people whats happening so, lets open this folder of patreon stuff from january of last year and see whats inside:
its weekly (every wednesday night). like any human (with baby), rarely things happen + its delayed or something, but i put a lot of effort into it. in a way its my favorite part of what i do: the behind the scenes feed.
