It has led many aged women and those in their prime, yet single, into misery. I feel zero sympathy for them.

There was a Man who loves you with all his heart. You both compatible and continued for long. Talking about long term rships and marriage. This man, as a proof of his love, sacrificed lots for you. Worked his ass off to provide your needs,
Protected you in times of trouble, bring you in and managed your emotional wretchedness, thus made you stable. He even supported your dreams. But you "feel" he ain't done enough, and there is another man somewhere, who will do better.
Bought with trinkets, promised vanities. And for your greediness, lack of control, and foolishness, but termed "she's loyal to her feelings", desert or cheat on the one, who for long bore your burdens. There's no escape to regret and misery. It usually doesn't end well.
The Man who bought or deceived you, see through your weakness, and wouldn't honor you. Maltreated and eventually abandoned. If that's not the case, your "feelings" would make you hop on yet, another Man. A chain is formed. A Harlot is made.
Most of these women, look back at their foolishness and weep terribly alone at night. The victims can relate. Esp. older single women without help. They ruin themselves by the inability to control their feelings. You young ladies should shut the fk up, and learn.
Lastly, I usually blame the Men. You make sacrifices for undeserving women.
