All Hindu tribals in the region were accorded Kshatriya varna on their initiation, regardless of ethnicity. Even Hindu Nagas of Dima Hasao are ritualistically Kshatriya.

Meenas in West India were accidentally given ST status because of a clerical error while others like Dalus of Meghalaya still do not get ST reservation.

Lambadas are OBC in Maharashtra, SC in Karnataka and ST in Telangana simultaneously.

And Plain Tiwas are non tribals because they speak Assamese as their first language instead of Tiwa?
