If you're a programmer, you can build products that earn for you.
Here's 4 skills you should start building today to achieve that:
1. Learn to develop: Learn a technology stack that can serve users directly at scale:
- Web apps
- Native apps (windows, android, iOS, mac apps)
- Chrome extensions
- VS Code extensions, Slack & Teams extensions
- Telegram bots, twitter bots etc
2. Learn to brainstorm: Figure out a small problem you can solve, or a solved problem you can improve upon
- A chrome extension for better web twitter theme?
- A telegram bot to notify users of price changes on an ecommerce?
- A VS Code extension to keep you from distractions?
3. Learn to build:
- Start with a simple prototype and understand how the market reacts
- Building in public helps
- Take feedback, fix bugs and keep iteratively building until people love your product
- Once you have enough users, start attaching premium, paid services
4. Learn to market & sell:
- 3 and 4 probably are best done together
- Build an audience of you potential customers. Use social media - twitter, instagram, youtube
- Offer the initial product for free, then slowly start charging for new, premium features
