7 pieces of advice for new creators.
(I wish someone had told me this sooner)

1. Double down on ONE social platform
You don't need to be on EVERY platform. Pick one you enjoy and get really good at that game.
Once you master that game, it'll be easier to learn the others โ€“ and you'll get a strong start by bringing people with you!
2. Create a content backlog
Instead of publishing as soon as you start creating, spend some time creating WITHOUT publishing.
Then when you start publishing, you'll have a backlog of content to pull from and you won't feel so much pressure.
3. Start a YouTube channel
Not everyone likes to be on video. But if you enjoy video at all โ€“ YouTube is still such a huge opportunity.
The audience is massive and the organic reach is unlike anything else.
If you have any interest at all, start immediately.
4. Focus on 1-2 products
Creators have built HUGE businesses on the back of single products.
Instead of spending a ton of time creating many products, spend all that time making one GREAT product your audience really loves.
It's actually easier to sell 1 thing than 10 things.
5. Learn SEO
People underestimate the impact SEO has on the growth and scale of today's biggest creators.
Whether it's articles on Google or videos on YouTube, search engines are still king when it comes to discoverability.
SEO drives new subscribers day in and day out.
6. Run concerted affiliate campaigns
Become an affiliate for products you love. Many software products offer recurring commissions, and this can be a HUGE consistent source of income.
Once you choose a product, really showcase it with workshops or some kind of campaign.
7. Play a multiplayer game
I've spent years focused on doing great work and putting it out into the world...but I haven't always done a great job supporting others who are doing the same.
Supporting and growing with others is both more effective and more fulfilling.
Recap:
1. Double down on ONE social platform
2. Create a content backlog
3. Start a YouTube channel
4. Focus on 1-2 products
